Terms of Service

Effective July 23, 2026

What changed: this revision spells out subscription renewal, cancellation, and the page-unpublish that follows a lapsed plan; makes reviewing AI drafts before you send them your responsibility; and states that these terms cover both Source of You and YouSourced.

These terms govern your use of Source of You. They’re written to be readable, not to trap you. By using the service, you agree to them.

The service

Source of You, operated by Chaos Theory Studios LLC, lets you build one structured Professional Identity Record and generate surfaces from it: a public source page, a resume, a LinkedIn summary, a bio, and an AI-visibility audit. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

These terms also govern YouSourced (yousourced.com), our honest-apply property, where you can browse a direct-source jobs feed and generate an application pack from your record. It runs on the same platform, and the same terms apply to it.

Your account

You need an account to use most features. Sign-in is passwordless (a secure link or Google). You’re responsible for the email account you sign in with and for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 and able to form a binding contract.

Your content and ownership

You own your record and everything you put in it. You grant us only the limited license needed to host, process, and display it to operate the service, including generating outputs and publishing the surfaces you choose to publish. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content you already made public, which may persist in third-party caches outside our control.

Accuracy and acceptable use

The product’s value is that it’s true. You agree not to:

  • Enter false, misleading, or fabricated facts about yourself, or impersonate anyone else.
  • Build a record for a person without their authorization.
  • Use the service to harass, defame, or violate others' rights or privacy.
  • Scrape, attack, reverse-engineer the hosted service, or attempt to break its security or access others' data.
  • Upload malware or unlawful content, or use the service to break the law.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your record. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these terms.

AI-generated content

Outputs (including resumes, source pages, bios, and YouSourced application packs) are generated by AI from the facts you provide and are offered as drafts for your review. We don’t guarantee they are error-free or fit for a particular purpose. The service surfaces your real record content and generated text; it is not a source of independent facts about you.

You are responsible for reviewing every draft before you publish it, send it to anyone, or submit it with an application. Because these outputs go out under your name, checking them for accuracy and fit is your obligation, not ours.

Plans and billing

Some features require a paid plan (for example, Pro or Executive). The price of each plan and what it includes are shown in-product before you pay. Free features are provided as-is.

Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page, which opens the billing portal; your paid access then continues until the end of the period you already paid for. We don’t give partial-period refunds except where the law requires them.

If a paid plan ends and is not renewed, features that require it stop working. In particular, a published source page is automatically unpublished about 30 days after the plan lapses, and it stops resolving publicly. Re-upgrading before then keeps it up; re-upgrading later lets you publish it again.

Intellectual property

The Source of You software is open source under the MIT License (see the LICENSE file in the repository). The Source of You name, wordmark, and brand are not covered by that license and remain ours. An MIT license to the code is not permission to use our branding.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output will achieve a particular result.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chaos Theory Studios LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or USD 100.

Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or its users. Deletion is self-serve on your account page, and you can request an export of your data by email, both as described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located there, unless applicable law gives you the right to your local courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll revise the effective date and, for material changes, give in-product notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
